It all starts with a question.<\/p>\n
Somehow, someway it gets spoken<\/p>\n
Or simply lifts into your life, like<\/p>\n
Morning.\u00a0 Either way<\/p>\n
It appears and your life changes.<\/p>\n
Perhaps it sings into your life, like<\/p>\n
Morning birds that say:<\/p>\n
\u201cFlock! Tree!\u00a0 Let\u2019s Go!<\/p>\n
Stay! Sun! Fly! Wings!\u201d<\/p>\n
Maybe it gets puzzled up in chatter.<\/p>\n
Perhaps it crashes into your life, like<\/p>\n
A tree branch through your roof.<\/p>\n
Perhaps it stands unspoken for years<\/p>\n
In a corner of the room, like<\/p>\n
A lamp without a lightbulb.<\/p>\n
Perhaps it drifts into your awareness, like<\/p>\n
The fragrance of morning coffee,<\/p>\n
Old books, or the air just before rain,<\/p>\n
No matter how or when it arrives,<\/p>\n
The thing to do is to remember:<\/p>\n
There is a quest in every question.<\/p>\n
And sometimes questions<\/p>\n
Need to be followed casually, like<\/p>\n
A child on a walk in the woods,<\/p>\n
And sometimes questions need to be pursued, like<\/p>\n
A lost child in a carnival.<\/p>\n
And sometimes questions simply need<\/p>\n
To be acknowledged, and the answers<\/p>\n
Pale in comparison to the fact<\/p>\n
That you were finally able to ask whatever it was<\/p>\n
You so desperately needed to ask.<\/p>\n
And sometimes the answer is so utterly everyday<\/p>\n
You miss it, like a stop sign or a dandelion\u2014<\/p>\n
And sometimes the question and the answer<\/p>\n
Arise together, like<\/p>\n
The butterfly in the cocoon,<\/p>\n
Or the bird in the egg,<\/p>\n
Or acceptance in the sorrow,<\/p>\n
And sometimes…sometimes,<\/p>\n
It all ends with a question,<\/p>\n
And when it does,<\/p>\n
The thing to do is to remember:<\/p>\n
There is a quest in every question,<\/p>\n
And no quest is ever deemed unworthy<\/p>\n
Simply because the end winds up being<\/p>\n
Another beginning, or the \u201cX marks the spot\u201d<\/p>\n
Ends up being the very place<\/p>\n
Where your knees touch the ground<\/p>\n
Or your eyes search the sky,<\/p>\n
And no quest, no matter what<\/p>\n
Any staunch individualist says<\/p>\n
Is ever meant to be traveled alone.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
