I started out
\ndancing
\nin atoms leaping
\nfrom one
\nanimal breath
\nto another inhaled
\nswallowed
\nsoused into
\nstomachs
\nthen found myself
\na seed
\nthrown from the wind
\nsprouted spread
\npalms withered
\ncurled into
\nthe ground and then
\nfor a thousand
\nyears a tree
\nnear a pond
\nthat soaked up
\nthe moon, and
\nlater surprised myself
\ninto a grasshopper
\nnibbling leaves
\nspringing from branch
\nto branch then
\nsnatched and bent
\nin half by a crow\u2019s beak
\nsometime
\nlater hatched
\nfrom that crow\u2019s egg
\nand flew
\nright into the raccoon\u2019s mouth
\ngrew a coat of coarse
\nfur scavenged
\nin trash and slept
\nunder porches until
\ndead by rat poison
\nand after
\nawhile was born
\nthrough my mother
\nand father and here
\nsearching all
\nreading all driving
\nwalking eating sleeping
\nand I don\u2019t remember
\nwhen you found me
\nand took me by
\nthe hand
\nwalked me over
\ncurrents of light
\nand sky
\nof bells ringing
\nsoft as flowers
\nwalking further
\nand closer
\nwe merged one
\ninto the other
\nand I started
\ndancing again
\nbefore your radiant
\nsmile and deep
\nsea eyes
\nuntil I became
\nno more
\nme but you
\nthe light
\nthe ocean
\ncomposed
\nof nothing
\nbut drops
\nmade
\nof love and love
\nand love<\/p>\n
