This enormous invisibility–
\nelaborate and uncompromising–
\nbooming with ways of the living.<\/p>\n
Every deep thing is, all along,
\na conviction rooted in suffering–
\na deathbed conversation
\nof the mostly given vision
\nof who we are and what
\nwe will become.<\/p>\n
Gut the fish. You won\u2019t find
\nany hidden rings. Turn to the trees,
\nclimb them and hide in
\nthe hawk\u2019s nest. If possible,
\nbecome a fledgling with every intention
\nof one day falling into flying
\nand riding the sky until you spot hope
\nfrom a mile away, trying to hide,
\nbut unable. Then, if you can,
\ndescend–take the wind with you,
\nopen your talons. The fur will be
\nsofter than you imagined.<\/p>\n
