{"id":256,"date":"2012-03-08T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-08T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b16dba5e-d3df-4908-98f7-eedc563406f8"},"modified":"2012-03-08T05:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-03-08T05:00:00","slug":"the-fable-of-the-elephant-and-the-frog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thewonderchildblog.com\/?p=256","title":{"rendered":"The Fable of the Elephant and the Frog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"\" align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn0.google.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSU-JGj4GIQROrB30Xy_11DB2HUI_-HejLh_0S7tLnowMQHLSwp\">\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 19px; line-height: 21px; \"><br \/><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">Once upon a<br \/>\ntime there was an elephant standing in a pond happily eating some twigs.&nbsp; The twigs were so tasty and nutritious that<br \/>\nhe felt like he was in heaven.&nbsp; He was<br \/>\nhaving a splendid time.&nbsp; Now the elephant<br \/>\nhappened to find the most delicious stick on the tree.&nbsp; It was so delicious, so scrumptious that it<br \/>\nmade him the happiest elephant in the whole jungle.&nbsp; And as he was about to take another bite of<br \/>\nthat fibrous stick, it suddenly slipped from his trunk and kerplopped into the<br \/>\nwater.&nbsp; And do you know what that<br \/>\nelephant did next?&nbsp; He went crazy trying<br \/>\nto find that stick!&nbsp; He splashed and<br \/>\nthrashed and stomped his feet in anger and the more he splashed and the more he<br \/>\nthrashed what do you suppose happened to the water?&nbsp; It got muddier and muddier and the muddier it<br \/>\ngot, the harder and harder it became to find his stick.&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">Now nearby,<br \/>\nsitting on a log, basking in the sun was a green frog with gold-speckled<br \/>\neyes.&nbsp; The frog sat there watching the<br \/>\nelephant frantically stomping around looking for his stick, and finally he said<br \/>\nin a quiet voice: <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">\u201cBe<br \/>\nstill.\u201d&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">But the<br \/>\nelephant wasn\u2019t listening.&nbsp; He was too<br \/>\nbusy splashing around.&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">\u201cBe still,\u201d<br \/>\nwhispered the frog.&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">And the<br \/>\nelephant kept on splashing.&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">\u201cBe still,\u201d<br \/>\nthe frog said again.<o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">&nbsp;And this time the elephant was so tired of<br \/>\nfighting and splashing, that he stopped and said, \u201cWhat did you say?\u201d&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">\u201cBe still,\u201d<br \/>\nrepeated the frog.&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">\u201cBe<br \/>\nstill?&nbsp; What good will that do?\u201d yelled<br \/>\nthe elephant. \u201cDon\u2019t you understand I\u2019ve lost the tastiest stick in the whole<br \/>\njungle?&nbsp; How can you expect me to be<br \/>\nstill? I\u2019ve got to find it!\u201d <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">\u201cNow<br \/>\nbreathe,\u201d said the frog.&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">\u201cBreathe?!&nbsp; I am breathing,\u201d yelled the elephant.&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">\u201cBreath in<br \/>\nslowly and deeply,\u201d said the frog, \u201cbreathe in the stillness of the mountains.\u201d<br \/>\n<o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">And whole<br \/>\ntime the elephant stood there talking with the frog, learning to breathe, what<br \/>\nwas happening to the water of the pond?&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe mud and the dirt were settling in the stillness.&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">And then the<br \/>\nfrog said, \u201cNow look down.\u201d&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">And when the<br \/>\nelephant looked down, there was the stick!&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe elephant was so happy.&nbsp; He<br \/>\nreached down and wrapped the end of his trunk around that stick and pulled it<br \/>\nout and started munching again.<o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style=\"text-align:center\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">*************************<o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style=\"text-align:center\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; \">Ever lose<br \/>\nyour patience?&nbsp; Your temper?&nbsp; Your perspective?
