To walk through the dark field,<\/p>\n
Brushing your hands over the tops<\/p>\n
Of the barley, under the stars<\/p>\n
And the patient moon;<\/p>\n
To let go, while at the same time<\/p>\n
Hold on for dear life,<\/p>\n
As thoughts flood,<\/p>\n
And fear lifts you<\/p>\n
Out of your body<\/p>\n
To a safer place<\/p>\n
Among the trees;<\/p>\n
To hear the owl\u2019s question<\/p>\n
And to answer in the affirmative,<\/p>\n
Declaring you rightfully exist<\/p>\n
Among the fireflies, the crickets,<\/p>\n
And the turning world;<\/p>\n
To see the falling star<\/p>\n
And to wish nothing more<\/p>\n
Than for the owl to find food;<\/p>\n
To step into the river, without<\/p>\n
Succumbing to the cold,<\/p>\n
And to reach down, lifting water<\/p>\n
Over your head and say:<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is my beloved child,<\/p>\n
With whom I am well pleased.\u201d<\/p>\n
