I.<\/p>\n

I know there is<\/p>\n

So much<\/p>\n

To be grateful for\u2014<\/p>\n

I know.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And yet, this<\/p>\n

Nothingness hangs<\/p>\n

In the humidity, like<\/p>\n

Cicada song,<\/p>\n

And I drift through<\/p>\n

The day, lost<\/p>\n

As the wind.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II.<\/p>\n

Cicada song swells and thins<\/p>\n

Through the wide sky,<\/p>\n

Sunflowers turn their faces<\/p>\n

To the ground,<\/p>\n

Wheat awaits the approaching windrower,<\/p>\n

Summer turns in her gauzy shift<\/p>\n

Towards the shimmering horizon,<\/p>\n

Trees gradually light their lamps,<\/p>\n

And somewhere, below, a ghost moves<\/p>\n

Looking exactly like me.<\/p>\n
