The tree leans in,<\/p>\n
Taps the window.<\/p>\n
The one inside<\/p>\n
Rises slowly,<\/p>\n
Moves, touches the pane.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Suddenly it\u2019s gone\u2014<\/p>\n
Dissolving into vast, open spaces;<\/p>\n
And the freshness of the air<\/p>\n
Fills the body, lifts the spirits,<\/p>\n
Calms the mind, frees the soul.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The one inside<\/p>\n
Breathes for the first time<\/p>\n
In years, allowing the fingers of the tree<\/p>\n
To dance over them<\/p>\n
With the utmost tenderness,<\/p>\n
Spreading a joy so clean,<\/p>\n
So almost unimaginably sweet–<\/p>\n
Yet there it is\u2014rivering through them.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And as the tree continues its feather-light<\/p>\n
Touches, the one inside<\/p>\n
Moves further, closer, and climbs<\/p>\n
Into its branches, settles<\/p>\n
Into its arms, and the tree\u2014<\/p>\n
Rooted deeply in the cool, delicious earth,<\/p>\n
Cradles the one inside, who is now<\/p>\n
The one outside, and lifts them up<\/p>\n
Towards the moon and the stars,<\/p>\n
Holding them aloft\u2014a new born<\/p>\n
Child\u2014and sways, and hums<\/p>\n
Freedom songs into the sky, and waves as gently<\/p>\n
As morning\u2019s sun-filled arrival.<\/p>\n
