Be Amazed<\/p>\n

I am.<\/p>\n
I woke this morning<\/p>\n
To riotous birdsong.<\/p>\n
As I listened, letting the staccato melodies<\/p>\n
Sink in, I became increasingly amazed.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Think about it:<\/p>\n
We are awakened<\/p>\n
By singing.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Now, before you think about it too hard,<\/p>\n
Let the truth of that statement be.<\/p>\n
Hold it there for a few seconds,<\/p>\n
And then go ahead and travel the winding road<\/p>\n
Of questions and temporary answers<\/p>\n
As to why birds sing\u2014if you need to.<\/p>\n
You can do that and have fun doing that.<\/p>\n
You could also simply relish the reality\u2014<\/p>\n
Whatever divine randomness is out there<\/p>\n
And in here, it chose to wake us up by singing\u2014<\/p>\n
By birds singing.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It could have chosen to wake us up<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
With construction rigging every day.<\/p>\n
It could have chosen to wake us up<\/p>\n
To thunderous, monotonous silence.<\/p>\n
It could have chosen not to wake us up at all.<\/p>\n
But it didn\u2019t.\u00a0 The divine chose to wake us up<\/p>\n
To singing.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Keep that in mind–uppermost in mind<\/p>\n
When you begin to doubt hope, beauty,<\/p>\n
And the purpose of things,<\/p>\n
Remember this truth<\/p>\n
And allow yourself to be amazed.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Once you are good and awake<\/p>\n
Join the chorus–let your life sing,<\/p>\n
Everywhere you rush and run, dart and soar,<\/p>\n
Bank and circle, glide and flutter–<\/p>\n
May your song awaken someone–anyone<\/p>\n
Who simply hears the song of your life\u2014<\/p>\n
The overarching beauty and music of who you are<\/p>\n
And how you choose to live.<\/p>\n
