Keep moving,<\/p>\n
The road, they say,<\/p>\n
Is made by walking,<\/p>\n
I know, that sounds<\/p>\n
Trite and annoying,<\/p>\n
Nevertheless,<\/p>\n
It holds true.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Think about acorns.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I imagine<\/p>\n
They haven\u2019t a clue<\/p>\n
About what is happening,<\/p>\n
Or where they are,<\/p>\n
Or where they are going.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless,<\/p>\n
They go.\u00a0 I want to<\/p>\n
Believe they dream<\/p>\n
Of sky and wind and sun<\/p>\n
And roots to hold them<\/p>\n
As they sway in said sky,<\/p>\n
Wind, and sun.<\/p>\n
I also think they haven\u2019t<\/p>\n
Any idea that their dreams<\/p>\n
Are real, on so many<\/p>\n
Blessed levels.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
So, what do they do?<\/p>\n
They move inside\u2014<\/p>\n
Something unfurls,<\/p>\n
Like having the morning<\/p>\n
Tucked away within them,<\/p>\n
And as this slow, green,<\/p>\n
Galaxy of branches opens,<\/p>\n
They move outside.\u00a0 While they may<\/p>\n
Not know where<\/p>\n
They are going,<\/p>\n
They open themselves<\/p>\n
To possibilities and roads.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Sure, they meet stones,<\/p>\n
Rocks, pass worms<\/p>\n
And bones, perhaps<\/p>\n
Even a sleeping bear or two,<\/p>\n
Sure, its dark inside, and outside,<\/p>\n
And, for the most part, cold.<\/p>\n
Yet, they rise, moving<\/p>\n
In ways that remind me<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
If you become lost,<\/p>\n
Keep moving.\u00a0 You may<\/p>\n
Not know where<\/p>\n
You are going, or<\/p>\n
Where your destination<\/p>\n
Will be; what skies<\/p>\n
You will open up into\u2014<\/p>\n
What horizons you will see,<\/p>\n
What birds will find safety<\/p>\n
In your arms.\u00a0 The light knows<\/p>\n
However.\u00a0 The light knows<\/p>\n
Wherever.\u00a0 The light knows<\/p>\n
Whenever.\u00a0 The light knows<\/p>\n
Whatever.\u00a0 The light knows<\/p>\n
Whyever.\u00a0 The light knows<\/p>\n
Whomever and whichever,<\/p>\n
And shiningever, and singingever,<\/p>\n
Callingever, lighthousingever,<\/p>\n
Lookingforyouever, thewayever,<\/p>\n
The nowever, the light knows all<\/p>\n
The question words,<\/p>\n
The light knows all<\/p>\n
The answer words,<\/p>\n
The light knows all<\/p>\n
The inbetween words,<\/p>\n
The light knows all<\/p>\n
The unspoken words.<\/p>\n
The light knows<\/p>\n
You.<\/p>\n
The light knows<\/p>\n
You carry its child.<\/p>\n
The light knows<\/p>\n
You will both be born<\/p>\n
Again, and again,<\/p>\n
Into the way home.<\/p>\n
