You needn\u2019t worry summer is stepping back;<\/p>\n
You needn\u2019t do the same; inside<\/p>\n
Spirit has been gathering<\/p>\n
Embers of the sun and the harvest moon<\/p>\n
And placed them in the hearth of your soul;<\/p>\n
As winter\u2019s shift trundles over<\/p>\n
The hillside and drapes itself<\/p>\n
Over eaves and shutters, the space<\/p>\n
Around the chimneys remains<\/p>\n
Warm and where winter birds roost<\/p>\n
To shake the frost from their wings;<\/p>\n
Summer will always be there surrounded<\/p>\n
By springtime in the center<\/p>\n
Of who you are\u2014there will always be warmth\u2014<\/p>\n
Now work\u2014pretend you didn\u2019t hear what I just said—<\/p>\n
Go–collect the kindling of your desires,<\/p>\n
Rake the dry leaves of your disappointments<\/p>\n
And heap them together with whatever<\/p>\n
Things you didn\u2019t do this summer<\/p>\n
And set them on fire; there is wood<\/p>\n
A plenty in the forest of your worries\u2014<\/p>\n
It is there for a reason\u2014you are<\/p>\n
Not harming anyone or anything<\/p>\n
When you illume the soul\u2014winter silences<\/p>\n
Autumn\u2019s dazzling carnival, autumn<\/p>\n
Diminishes summer\u2019s return, and spring\u2014<\/p>\n
That fragrant season of dew-dappled light<\/p>\n
Lives forever by the force of your own will<\/p>\n
Coupled with mercy from heaven<\/p>\n
In the center of your soul.<\/p>\n
