I met an ocean who laughs in many tongues.<\/p>\n
Every night she spills treasures from her blue apron<\/p>\n
For those who seek in the morning, for those who look down<\/p>\n
When they walk.\u00a0 She coaxes awe and calm<\/p>\n
From their feet by swirling kisses around them,<\/p>\n
And if you were to pause right there in the middle<\/p>\n
Of one of her feet-kisses\u2014as she moves ever so slightly<\/p>\n
Hire up your ankles\u2014and really try to take in<\/p>\n
Her presence–she would undress you from you,<\/p>\n
And then, in one slow revelation, she would bathe you in you,<\/p>\n
And ease your breath into sweet gasping,<\/p>\n
And send her laughter lapping into your soul,<\/p>\n
And if you have learned anything<\/p>\n
From such intensity of attention,<\/p>\n
Then, as you turn<\/p>\n
To go, you will<\/p>\n
Allow her<\/p>\n
One, last, lingering touch,<\/p>\n
And in her fiery, cool fingers<\/p>\n
You will hear her laughter in many tongues<\/p>\n
Rising passed your solar plexus, and far beyond<\/p>\n
Into your brain, your ears, your voice,<\/p>\n
And you will find yourself<\/p>\n
Looking up into her partner, the sky,<\/p>\n
Who will be by then reaching down to lift you<\/p>\n
As you walk, deliriously singing,<\/p>\n
Back into the world.<\/p>\n
