\nWinter solstice;
\nDuring the darkness
\nOf beards and switch blades
\nI moved through time asleep,
\nDuring the endless
\nCity-silencing snow
\nConfused relationships
\nShattered like ice-laden branches,
\nDuring the deep cold of addiction
\nAnd orgasms dissociation in the ceiling
\nProvided momentary relief
\nFrom this mist-filled body,
\nIn the frost-shawled grass
\nI stood barefoot to see
\nIf I was alive, and when it snowed
\nI would drop and make flocks
\nOf angels to see my imprint
\nIn wings and a dress,
\nLittle did I know
\nThis solstice was a Bethlehem,
\nLittle did I know
\nMy spirit was ripe with child,
\nLittle did I know
\nHerod would have killed me
\nBy mistake,
\nLittle did I know
\nLight grew in the womb
\nOf my soul,
\nAnd with each lengthening day
\nMore of me crested
\nFrom the dark bush of the dark mother
\nInto the world of melting snow,
\nAnd mother darkness
\nBecame my heaven
\nSwaddling me in thankful,
\nEarth-scented arms,
\nAnd now, as I shed these last days
\nOf winter,
\nI find myself
\nStepping into my life
\nBorn fully realized
\nAs Ruth, lover of Naomi,
\nAs Mary Magdalene,
\nLover of alabaster and fragrance,
\nAs one of the two women
\nGrinding together
\nIn Luke, only when the night comes
\nWe shall both be whisked away
\nScented in the sweetest sin,
\nSwathed in the most holy darkness,
\nAnd carried to heaven\u2019s bed
\nWhere we can bloom a Summer Solstice
\nBetween our oceanic bodies of bliss.<\/p>\n
