Who would ever tell autumn leaves<\/p>\n
They really should have stayed green?<\/p>\n
Sure they were born all manner of greens\u2014<\/p>\n
Supple, minty, luminous shades;<\/p>\n
Can you imagine a moment knowing<\/p>\n
You were golden inside even though outside<\/p>\n
You had always presented otherwise?<\/p>\n
Can you imagine the terrible joy?<\/p>\n
Can you imagine new colors beginning<\/p>\n
To show and spreading to the tips<\/p>\n
Of your fingers, without being able to stop them?<\/p>\n
Imagine you were really a fire of purple<\/p>\n
And blazing red, imagine you ingested<\/p>\n
Bits of the sun and now bloomed orange<\/p>\n
And lemon and vermillion,<\/p>\n
Imagine reminding everyone of apple cider<\/p>\n
And hay bales, and mazes made of corn fields.<\/p>\n
Can you imagine?<\/p>\n
Can you imagine opening enough<\/p>\n
To include the miraculous?<\/p>\n
Can you imagine what it is like to realize<\/p>\n
Once you discover who you really are<\/p>\n
That you have to let go of root and branch,<\/p>\n
And leap into the wind, swirl onto rivers<\/p>\n
And streams, and dance into the wild,<\/p>\n
Blue, accepting sky without knowing<\/p>\n
Where you will land?<\/p>\n
